Our focus is on serving our members and our profession. We do this through offering the C-DSW credential, a monthly e-newsletter, provision of an annual research grant, research publication, a conference calendar, continuing education courses and other information. We hope to sponsor an annual conference in the future. By improving our individual skills and knowledge we will be better prepared to care for our patients.

We seek to promote the knowledge and value of social workers throughout the United States who are employed in the chronic renal dialysis field. Did you know that for more than twenty years dialysis nurses and patient care technicians have been able to demonstrate their specialized knowledge & training in dialysis by obtaining certification. By completing an examination through the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission they can become Certified Nephrology Nurses (CNN) or Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technicians (CCHT). Now social workers have a similar opportunity.
Our members are entitled to use the Certified Dialysis Social Worker (C-DSW) credential upon successful completion of a comprehensive exam that tests their competence in several core categories. These categories pertain to Medicare, commercial insurance, disability benefits, mental health issues, ethics and other matters. The C-DSW is the only national standardized certification that denotes a social workers expertise in dialysis.
